The Virginia Commonwealth University Signage Manual establishes guidelines for the fabrication, installation and maintenance of campus signs. Adherence to these standards promotes a consistent, cohesive signage system that makes wayfinding easier and enhances the visual unity of VCU’s Monroe Park and MCV campuses.

All signage must be processed, manufactured and installed through VCU Facilities Management. If you need assistance replacing existing signage or ordering new signage for your area, please contact Amanda Martinez at (804) 828-6625.

To request signage that deviates from the VCU signage standards, please fill out our signage variance request form.

All requests to hang banners from the Main Street bridge/walkway exterior and Linden Court lamp posts should go through University Relations. University Relations will approve banner designs as well as maintain a reservation calendar for that location. Requests should be emailed to (Please note: MCV Campus banners are handled through James Morrisard.)

Please note: the signage manual is currently being updated with specifications related to the new branding. For any specific questions relating to signage and the new branding, please email or call (804) 827-0904.
